About

Lara Dion is a sculptor who redefines femininity through the physical intensity of metalwork. Working with recycled and repurposed metals, she merges organic forms with industrial force, using hammering, welding and shaping as both process and expression.

Her work challenges the assumption that softness and strength are opposites, developing a sculptural language rooted in resilience, identity and contradiction.

Centred on the female body, Dion’s sculptures act as vessels—reflective, resistant and often guided by the constraints of the material itself. Her work moves along the edge of the figurative and abstract, grounded in lived experience.

Originally from Quebec City, Dion holds a BFA from Bishop’s University. Her work has been shown at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, the Foreman Art Gallery and ArtWalk in the Square, where she was awarded Best in Alternative Media.
