About

Hayduk Smbatyan constructs his paintings with precise rhythm and an acute awareness of space, transforming surface and texture into intricate dialogues of form and balance. His abstraction is both raw and rigorously structured, rejecting excess to distill complexity into pure, refined expression.

Smbatyan has held solo exhibitions at Dalan Gallery, Gevorgyan Theological Seminary and the Union of Architects Gallery. His work has been showcased in international biennales, major group exhibitions and Armenia Art Fair at Yerevan Expo. Recognized for his talent early on, he received the Eduard Isabekyan Prize for Best Diploma Work.

Beyond his artistic practice, he has been a specialist at the Matenadaran Mesrop Mashtots Research Institute (Miniature Department) since 2014 and has contributed to arts education at the Henrik Igityan Aesthetic Center.
