About

Ashot Grigoryan approaches abstraction through structure, treating form, texture and space as architectural elements. His compositions reject traditional narrative, embracing a rhythm of movement, contrast and precision.

Geometric constraints become a language of their own, drawing the viewer into a dynamic interplay between presence and absence, structure and fluidity.

Grigoryan has been an artist-in-residence since 2017 in Norway, California and Switzerland, to name a few. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo shows at Zeughaus Kultur Brig-Glis in Switzerland and Centre des Arts Sanahin in Montreal, Canada, and group exhibitions such as Sacred Minimalism at AGBU Gallery in Yerevan and Crossing Borders in Reykjavik, Salzburg, Bonn and Yerevan.

He was awarded the STEP travel grant from the European Cultural Foundation for his Green Urbanism project.
