Ochoa

Born 1990, Colombia

About

Ochoa’s work blends satire, humour and a provocative energy, confronting absurdity and hypocrisy within societal behaviours. His experiences travelling through Colombia, both as a professional and as a child in a military family, shaped his view of reality.

Through his sculptures, he examines his perception of the world, broaching political issues and creating institutional critique through modifications of pre-existing material. He questions the meaning of the object, shifting its identity.

Ochoa’s drawings connect inwardly, with his inner self presented through bold, impulsive movements and shadowed forms.

He has exhibited in Bogotá at Galería Elvira Moreno and his work is currently represented by ArtVolt at Concordia University, Montréal.
