About

Suren Safaryan’s art is a dynamic exploration of abstraction, where colour and form take center stage. Stripping away the recognizable, he transforms nature into a rhythmic interplay of shadow, reflection and movement.

His work dissolves the familiar into a world where colour is an independent force, evoking a sense of fluidity and constant evolution.

Safaryan has held solo exhibitions at the Contemporary Art Museum of Yerevan, the Artists’ Union of Armenia and internationally in Budapest, Ljubljana and Moscow. His work has been featured in major group exhibitions, including the Autumn Salon at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Florence Biennale and the Beijing International Art Biennale.

A member of multiple international art organizations, he has received numerous accolades, including First Prize at Art Award 2011 and the Special Jury Award at Moscow International Art Exhibition.

Since 2018, Safaryan has served as the President of the Artists’ Union of Armenia, playing a pivotal role in shaping the country’s contemporary art scene.
